From 27 September onwards the International Live Comedy Festival is held in Antwerp. The American comedian Eddie Griffin is added to an impressive line-up including British headliners such as Stephen Merchant, Jimmy Carr and Jack Dee.
 
Since the nineties funnyman Eddie Griffin has been building a career many of his fellow comedians could only dream about.
 
Thanks to performances as a ‘regular’ at the Comedy Store – where he was compared with renowned comedians such as Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx and Lenny Bruce -  he was offered the opening act of the at that time extremely popular Andrew Dice Clay at Madison Square Garden.
 
Soon after he appeared in the Def Comedy Jam, which resulted in a national breakthrough with lots of successful years of solo performances, guest performances in films, series and albums (with, amongst others, Dr. Dre, Tupac and Snoop Lion) to follow.  He was even honored in Comedy Central’s ‘Top 100 Greatest Stand-Up Comedians of All Time’.
 
In Belgium ‘funny motherfucker’ Griffin has a loyal fan base, thanks to his parts in the ‘Chapelle Show’ and the sitcom ‘Malcolm & Eddie’, and let’s not forget his parts in successful films as ‘Deuce Bigalow’, ‘Norbit’ and ‘Armageddon’. His guest appearances in the animation series ‘Black Dynamite’ and ‘The Boondocks’ and cameos in spoof movies as ‘Scary Movie’ and ‘Date Movie’ are unforgettable.
 
On Tuesday 11 November Eddie Griffin  will be in our country for an exclusive comedy act at Theatre Elckerlyc in Antwerp.
