UAE award winning Maz Jobrani coming to Belgium in April
13th of April in Arenberg Antwerp
Iranian-American comedian and actor Maz Jobrani is the proud owner of the very first UAE Comedy Award for Best International Act. As the comedy scene in the United Arab Emirates keeps growing, the time was ripe to organise the first UAE Comedy Awards. The winners were chosen by an online public vote and Maz Jobrani had the most votes as Best International Act, before Dave Chappelle and Trevor Noah.
Maz Jobrani is a founding member of The Axis of Evil Comedy Tour, which first aired on Comedy Central.
He performs stand-up around the world, including the Middle East, where he performed in front of the King of Jordan. In the US, he rocked the stages of “The Tonight Show” and “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson”.
His new show 'I'm Not A Terrorist But I've Played One On TV' follows up his bestselling book of the same title. In his laugh-out-loud memoir, Maz shares his struggle to build an acting career, as he was always asked to play a terrorist, but never got to audition for any doctor or lawyer parts. A hilarious story about his quest to make it in Hollywood without having to wear a turban or to tote a bomb. He takes on political issues, social issues and his kids through the lens of his Iranian-American background to show that we have a lot more in common than we think.
Rumour has it he’s especially excited to visit Belgium again after his successful passage in 2014. Get ready for an unforgettable night, filled with audience participation, making fun of stereotypes without sparing anyone. Not even himself.
